Title I Schoolwide Programs

What is Title I? 

A federal grant that provides supplemental funding for resources to schools that qualify based on the number of students from low-income families. These resources are used to help schools meet academic content and achievement standards. 

Why should this matter to me? 

  • Butler County Schools receives funding through the Title I grant. 

  • Butler County Middle School, Morgantown Elementary, and North Butler Elementary participate in receiving funding through Title I and operate as a schoolwide program.

Testing Transparency Notification  

Butler County Schools receives federal funds for Title I programs as a part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). You may request information addressing any State or District policy regarding student participation in any assessments mandated by ESSA, by the State or District. If you would like to request this information, please contact your child’s school principal by phone, email, or message through ParentSquare. 

Notification of Right to Request Teacher Qualifications

The educators in Butler County Schools are committed to providing a quality instructional program for your child.  This notice is just one of the ways of keeping you informed of the educational commitment of our schools and our district.

Our district receives federal funds for Title I, Part A programs as a part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).  Under ESSA, you have the right to request information regarding the professional qualifications of your child’s teacher(s).  If you request this information, the district will provide you with the following:

  1. Whether the teacher has met the state requirements for licensure and certification for the grade levels and subject matters in which the teacher provides instruction; 

  2. Whether the teacher is teaching under an emergency or other provisional status, through which state qualification or licensing criteria have been waived; 

  3. The baccalaureate degree major of the teacher and any other graduate certification or degree held by the teacher, and the field of discipline of the certification or degree; and

  4. Whether your child is provided services by paraeducators, and if so, their qualifications.
