Dear Butler County School Families,
I want to take this time thank everyone for the tremendous amount of work as we finish our first week
of our Non-Traditional Instruction. The posts I have seen on Social Media have been great and I
appreciate the great partnerships with all of the parents, students, and overall community.
I spoke with the Governor and Commissioner of Education this afternoon. The Governor will discuss
some dates and plans during a press conference later today. While we are scheduled to return to school
on April 13 th , I would encourage you to be prepared for that date to change and school closure be
extended. The state will continue to work on guidance that will be delivered to the School
Superintendents that will help us get through this unprecedented time.
The school district will continue to work on our plan for additional NTI Days. We understand students
have assignments and work that will get them through the end of next week. We will work with
principals and develop a plan for teachers to be able to come to the school at different times to begin
creating new assignments.
We continue to deliver meals to individual homes as well as our sites throughout the county. All four
school kitchens are open and meals can be picked up at any school. I want to thank all of our nutrition
staff and other support staff for helping us deliver over 9,000 meals this week.
We do have office staff at each school and the district office answering phone calls. If you have any
questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call.
Thank you and be safe
Scott Howard, Superintendent
Butler County Schools
