Dear Butler County Schools Family:

I wanted to give you the latest information in regards to the COVID-19 virus.  realize there are many questions, along with concern and anxiety.

Hopefully with this communication many of your questions will be answered.  Kentucky has what is called Non-Traditional Instructional Days. These are days where schools may be closed and students are allowed to work at home on assignments in either packet form or digitally.  Butler County Schools filled out an emergency application for our district to utilize NTI days. Our Butler County Schools website has a great deal of information about Non-Traditional Instructional Days or NTI Days.  www.butlerschools.net

Beginning March 16th, Butler County Schools will be closed based on a recommendation made by Governor Andy Beshear late yesterday afternoon.  Butler County Schools will not return to regular session until April 13th, 2020.

I realize this is a very unique situation and in many ways, unprecedented.  The health and safety of all our students, faculty, and staff remain our top priority.  The Butler County Board of Education will remain open. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call your school or the district office at 270-526-5624.

Take care and be safe,

Scott Howard

Superintendent

Butler County Schools
