Parent Volunteers for Project Prom

We need parent volunteers for Project Prom. Please sign up to help. We need the list in place by March 31.

There will be a Project Prom parent meeting Thursday, March 26 in the media center at 5:00 p.m. We will be planning specific games for the night of project prom. Please make plans to attend!!! Feel free to share with other junior and senior parents.

Ford AAA Competition

Mr. Collins and two of his students have qualified for the state finals of the Ford AAA competition again this year. The contest will be held at the Ford truck plant in Louisville KY on May 12-13. This will be an overnight trip. Justin Barks and Caleb Renfrow are the qualifying students. If you see them tell them congratulations. They qualified among the top ten in the state, among all participating high school automotive programs, by taking an online test.

BC-TV News - March 13th

This edition includes the following stories:

  • Ashton Garrison and Trevor Howlett take a look at “Stereotypes in the Media” and the effect it has on student self-concepts.
  • Recently, a new mayor was elected in the city of Morgantown. Jeremy Womack examines the first few days of this time of transition for both the new mayor and the city.
  • Kaleb Hunt goes behind the scenes to examine the purpose of “Andrea’s Mission” and the effect it is having on lives in Butler County.
  • On a lighter note, Kelsey Jenkins and Emily Rich go back into time with another addition of, “The Singing Bee”.
  • Heather Martin gets down and dirty as she examines the creative juices behind, “The Sculpting Class”.
  • Remmington Harpe and Jacob Fugate take a look at the challenges and success that were part of this years “Boys Basketball Team”.
  • Finally, Emily Rich, Kelsey Jenkins and Naomi Cade Paint, Yell and Scream during “Spirit Week”.

Project Prom

Butler County High School Project Prom 2015 will be after Prom on Sat April 25, 2015 this year.  Beginning at 11:30PM we will need for volunteers to tear down prom decorations and get ready for an early morning of fun and games for BCHS Juniors and Seniors and their guests.  Only BCHS Juniors and Seniors will be awarded prizes, but all guests are welcome to enjoy the festivities.   Project Prom is a drug/alcohol free event for the students of Butler County High School.

Due to massive amounts of snow…again (boo), we’re pushing the end of the 3rd nine weeks back again to the 26th and the 27th.  Mid-terms for 1st and 3rd will be on Thursday, 3/26 and mid-terms for 2nd and 4th will be on Friday, 3/27.  Thanks and good luck on getting through an entire week of school!


UK Freshman Summer Program

Any senior who will be attending UK in the fall, and would like to sign up for the freshmen summer program, come to the guidance office.
