I am the Employment Coordinator at the Butler County High School. The Community Based Work Transition Program (CBWTP) is a collaborative effort between participating local school districts, the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR), and the Human Development Institute at the University of Kentucky (HDI).
The CBWTP is designed to provide a positive beginning in the world of work for students during their last two years of high school.
My responsibility is to prepare these young adults for the workforce. I offer professional development guidance to high school students by helping identify and realize their career goals through personal consultation. I assist with identifing specific skills required for employment and help students obtain these skills, as well as assist in job application and interview preparation processes.
I absolutely love my job and enjoy working with my students.
A little bit about me...
I have lived in Butler County since 1997, and thank God for allowing me to find such a wonderful place to raise my family. I honestly would not live any where else.
I have been married to Jimmy Spurgeon since 1994, and together we have a 16 year old daughter Kayla Faith. I have been working in the school system since 2000. I enjoy camping, reading and vacationing.
