My name is Teri Leslie Curry and I have been teaching for 21 years. I moved to Morgantown in 2003 from eastern Kentucky. I taught 3rd grade for 16 years and didn't think I could ever love any grade more until I moved to 5th grade Social Studies. Now that's my favorite! I am the Director of Children's' Ministries at Morgantown Community Church and also involved in a successful networking business. I'm married to Duane Curry, counselor at BCHS. I have a son, Luke, and daughter, Hope. My hobbies include camping, relaxing on the beach, tasting wedding cake, and most of all spending as much time as possible with our baby granddaughter, Emma Kate!
My name is Cheryl Gilstrap. I have been teaching in Butler County for 22 years. I am a Writing Project Fellow and I am a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of Early Adolescent Language Arts. I have been working with fifth graders at MES for the last three years and I have enjoyed working at the elementary school. I am married to Cecil Gilstrap. I have two children. My daughter's name is Amanda Ford (married to Sam Ford). My son's name is Jared Gilstrap. I spend at least two days a week with my beautiful granddaughter Emma Belle Ford. We are joyously expecting another granddaughter. Her name will be Harper Madison and she is due to come into the world on July 15, 2011. When I am not spending time with my family, I love to explore new things. I like to travel and visit new places and new people. I love to read, write, and watch television. I also love plants---especially flowers. I would love to have a rose garden outside my home. I have found great enjoyment in my teaching career. I think teaching keeps me young and helps me to always hope. The children of Butler County Schools are full of light and intelligence and I find hope for the future in their intelligence and love for their home.
My name is Alicia McKinney, your child’s writing teacher. This is six year teaching at Morgantown Elementary as a 5th grade teacher. The joys the students bring into the classroom each and every day are more than I ever expected. They are not just my students, but also they are my kids. We have our ups and downs like any family, and from those we grow as people. My family means the world to me. My husband Eric and I became parents in April 2010. Twins, Kypton Gage and Erica Alyce, are the centers of our world. Seeing them grow and change is a gift from God I receive daily. They are perfect in every way! During our spare time, we enjoy playing, spending time with those we love, shopping, and reading children’s books.
